Additional domains, aliases and subdomains are managed through the Domains interface in cPanel. Dashboard organization depends on the theme and version enabled for your account.
Choose the right address type
- Additional domain: another domain, usually associated with a separate website and directory.
- Alias: another name displaying the main website.
- Subdomain: an address such as
blog.exemple.com, which can use its own directory.
Create a domain
- Search for Domains in cPanel.
- Choose Create a New Domain and enter the complete address.
- Check whether the document root should be shared, depending on the intended result.
- Confirm, then review the document root and management options in the list.
After creation
Check domain registration, DNS and the HTTPS certificate. These are separate from adding the domain in cPanel.
If your interface differs
Older Aliases, Addon Domains and Subdomains tools may have been combined in Domains. Use the panel’s search. Each feature’s availability depends on your plan and enabled options.
