Add an addon domain in cPanel to host a separate website on the same account, if your plan allows it.
Before adding the domain
Check the domain's registration, your plan's domain limit and the DNS settings to use. The allowed number depends on your service: check your Client Area rather than an old plan description.
Create the domain and its directory
- Open Domains in cPanel.
- Choose Create a New Domain and enter the domain.
- For an independent website, use a document root separate from the primary website. Disable any option to share its document root.
- Confirm and check the associated directory in the domain list.
Publish and test the website
Upload files into this directory or install your application for this domain. Check DNS, the HTTPS certificate and the public URL. Creating a domain in cPanel does not register it.
If the domain already exists or a limit is reached
Check the domain list and your plan. Do not delete an existing domain without a backup and an understanding of its purpose. Open a ticket if you cannot create an independent directory or the option is unavailable.
