You can change your primary cPanel account password using the options provided for your hosting service.

Before changing it

Check the relevant service and prepare a unique password. Access tools using the primary account, including some FTP tools, may need updating. Email accounts and additional users have their own passwords.

From the Client Area

  1. Sign in to the CAP CONNECT Client Area.
  2. Open Services, then the relevant hosting plan.
  3. Choose Change Password if available.
  4. Enter and confirm the new password, then save.

From cPanel

When available, Password & Security also lets you change the password by supplying the current one.

Test access and update tools

Open a new cPanel session and check your new credentials. Update applications using the primary account. If you cannot sign in, use the recovery procedure or contact support without sending your password.
