Adding a new subdomain in cPanel means creating a new section distinct from your main site using your primary domain name. This new section remains related to your main domain and website.
A subdomain takes the form “subdomain.yourdomain.com”. Essentially, you are adding a word before your initial domain name to create a new site that operates independently, but still remains attached to the original website.
Example:
“support.capconnect.com” is a subdomain of “capconnect.com“.
Note:
There is a difference between a subdomain and an additional domain. Unlike a subdomain, an additional domain can be entirely independent of the main domain name. (Difference between additional domain, subdomain, and alias.)
Creating a subdomain for your domain involves creating a new directory in your site’s structure, allowing you to manage both separately and independently. You can even use different management and development software for each.
