Imunify360 : How do I manage the security of my cPanel account?

Imunify360 plays a crucial role in defending against malware. As an all-in-one security solution, Imunify360 provides proactive protection against real-time threats, detects and removes malware, and strengthens server security by identifying and blocking intrusion attempts.

Malware, often referred to by the generic term “malware,” consists of programs designed to cause damage to a computer system, steal sensitive data, or perform other harmful activities. It can take various forms, such as viruses, worms, Trojans, ransomware, etc.

The presence of malware on a web server can compromise data security, lead to site downtime, or even harm a business’s reputation.

Here are the steps to follow if a suspicious file has been detected but has not been automatically deleted:

Once in the dashboard, you will find a list of all information related to malware security.

In the actions column, you have several options:

  1. View File: Click the eye icon to view the file’s content.
  2. Clean File: Click the brush icon to remove the malicious code from the infected file while preserving the original file. This aims to disinfect the file by eliminating only harmful elements, allowing the file to remain functional if it is legitimate and necessary for the website.
  3. Permanently Delete File: Click the Trash icon to completely remove the infected file from the server. This is a more radical measure used when the entire file is deemed harmful or unnecessary, ensuring that no trace of the malicious code remains.

If there are multiple files, you can use Clean All to delete them all at once:
Once the initial cleaning is complete, perform another malware scan to ensure that all malicious files have been removed and that the website is completely clean.
