Imunify360 : How do I manage the security of my cPanel account?

Imunify360 helps defend against malware. This security suite provides proactive detection, malware scanning and cleanup, and tools for identifying and blocking intrusion attempts. Malware is software designed to damage systems, steal sensitive information or perform other harmful actions. It includes viruses, worms, trojans and ransomware. Malware on a web server can compromise data, disrupt a website and damage a business’s reputation.

Kill mode in Imunify360 Proactive Defense

Your provider may enable Kill mode in Imunify360 Proactive Defense to stop detected malicious PHP activity. To check the setting, sign in to your cPanel, then open the Security section and click the icon Imunify360.

Click the Proactive Defense tab in the Imunify360 dashboard to see whether Kill mode is enabled.

If a suspicious file was detected but not cleaned automatically, review it as follows: The dashboard lists malware detections and their status. The Actions column offers several options:

1. View file : Click the eye icon to inspect the file contents.

2. Clean file : Click the brush icon to remove detected malicious code from an infected file. Cleanup aims to preserve legitimate content, but keep backups and test the site afterward.

3. After cleanup, address the cause of the infection. Removing one file does not rule out other compromised files or accounts.

If several files are affected, use Clean All to process the detected files together:

After the initial cleanup, run another malware scan and test the site. A clean scan is useful evidence, but does not guarantee that every security issue has been resolved.
