How to change the holder of a .ma domain name?

This guide explains how to change the holder of a .ma domain name in compliance with established procedures.

Change the holder of a .ma domain name

The procedure for transferring a .ma domain name between holders is different from the transfer from one provider to another. In fact, changing the holder of a domain name results in a new registration. The former and new holder must sign the following document: Form for Voluntary Transfer Request of .ma domain names This form confirms the willingness of both parties to transfer the domain name. From our side, we take the responsibility to send the completed and signed document to the National Registry of .ma domain names (ANRT). The ANRT reviews the request and, in some cases, requires proof of identity from the current holder. The latter must provide their ID to ensure progress in processing the request. Once the request is accepted, the holder's name is updated and the domain name is re-registered on the acceptance date. According to ANRT/DG/N°12/14 decision, the cost of this operation is equivalent to registering a new domain name. If the domain name is registered for several years, no refund will be issued for the remaining years. For more information, please refer to articles 25, 32, and 34 of the ANRT/DG/N°12/14 decision of November 21, 2014, regarding the new administrative, technical, and commercial management procedures for .MA domain names: http://www.anrt.ma/sites/default/files/2015-12-14-gestion-nom-domaine-ma-fr_0.pdf
