What is Google Workspace?
Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite) is a solution offered by Google that provides clients access to multiple tools and resources.
In addition to email addresses like name@business.com and ample storage for keeping and organizing important files, this service gives you access to many features.
It enables better communication and collaboration with your clients, partners, and colleagues, as well as improved productivity.
How to configure a domain name on Google Workspace?
Adding the MX record (for clients with only a domain name registered with Cap Connect):
Clients who subscribe to Google Workspace after April 2023 will use a single MX record. This facilitates service activation for new clients. It has no impact on email distribution or reliability.
You can use the 5 MX records shown here or the one listed in the table below.
Important: if you have already configured your service and it is working correctly, do not modify your MX records. You could cause incoming emails to bounce.
On cPanel (for clients with Cap Connect hosting):
If you purchased a hosting service from Cap Connect, please follow these steps:
1- Log in to your cPanel interface.
2- Go to the Domains section and click on Zone Editor.
3- Click on Manage.
4- On the next page, click on MX in the filter and delete all pre-existing records in this type, then click on Add Record.
5- Insert the following record:
SMTP.GOOGLE.COM
On your Client Account (for clients with only a domain name):
1- Log in to your client area
2- At the top, click on “domains”
3- Go to the domain for which you want to make changes and click on “DNS Zone Management”
4- At the bottom, choose the MX record and fill in the fields as shown below, then click on “Save Changes”:
Once the record is added, save and wait 48 hours for the DNS propagation to complete.
Your domain name is now configured with Google Workspace.
