Before you begin
Check the domain extension and the operation involved: changing the registrant, provider and account are different procedures.
The status: Registrar-Lock or ClientTransferProhibited blocks transfer to another registrar. It does not prevent every DNS or website change. For an authorized transfer, you generally need to unlock the domain name in question to ensure the transfer is completed correctly. You can unlock it directly in your client area.
Understanding how it works
Important: This option is only applicable to domain names with top-level extensions (.net, .com, .org …). For extensions such as .ma or .fr, you must consult your provider before proceeding with the transfer.
Key points
Conditions vary by extension and registry status. For generic extensions, some locks can prevent transfer, including a 60-day lock in certain situations. For .ma, follow the registry's procedure and confirm the required documents with CAP CONNECT.
