This article will show you how to configure your email address on Mozilla Thunderbird.
Before starting, ensure you have the following items at hand:
Your domain name: example.com
Your email address: admin@example.com
The password for your email address
After downloading and installing Mozilla Thunderbird on your computer, you can follow these steps to configure your email address:
1. Open the Thunderbird application
2. On the main page, under Create a new account, click on Email
This page will automatically display for new users and some existing users. If this page does not display by default, please click on ‘Local Folders’ to access it.
3. A window will appear. Enter your name, email address, and password. Then click on manual configuration.
4. Input and select the following configuration settings:
Incoming Server
IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
IMAP Port: 993 – SSL
Authentication: Autodetect
Username: your email address
Outgoing Server
SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Port: 465 – SSL
Authentication: Autodetect
Username: your email address
5. Click on Re-test.
6. If no errors appear, click Finish (Done).
Your email address should now be displayed in the Thunderbird menu. You can click on your email address to view its inbox.
