It is important to regularly back up your data (website, databases, emails...) on cPanel to prevent any data loss and to be able to restore them more easily. With the various tools offered on your cPanel account, you can now perform full or partial backups and restore your data.
Creating a Partial or Full Backup on cPanel
1 - Access your cPanel account (More details) and go to the “Files” section and click on “Backup Assistant”
2 - Click on Back Up
In the next step, you choose to perform either a partial backup or a full backup. The partial backup includes the home directory, MySQL database, and email forwarders and filters, while the full backup allows you to keep an entire copy of your data on your computer or transfer your package contents to another host.
Downloading a Full Backup
Click on Full Backup
On the next page, select the destination of your backup, enter your email address to be notified when the backup is ready for download, then click on Generate Backup
When the backup is generated, it will be available for download under Backups Available for Download Finally, download your backup.
Downloading a Partial Backup
To download a partial backup, click on the data you want to back up: Home Directory - MySQL Databases - Email Forwarders & Filters in the section Select a Partial Backup
On the next page, click on the data in question and download the backup.
Restoring a Backup
You can only perform a partial restoration of your hosting package, using previously performed partial backups. Restore your data from Files >Backup Assistant>Restore
Select the type of files to restore by clicking on one of the buttons provided
Choose the backup file you have already downloaded, and click on Load
From now on, you can easily backup and restore your domains!
