In this guide, we show you how to add an email account on Gmail and configure the outgoing server (SMTP) settings.

Add an Email Account on Gmail
1. Log in to your Gmail account.
Click on the settings icon in the upper right corner.
Click on See all settings in the dropdown menu.
Click on Accounts and Import in the top menu.
Click on Add a mail account.
Enter the email address you want to configure on Gmail.
Click on Next.
Select Import emails from my other account (POP3).
Click on Next.
Use the following settings for the incoming server (POP3):
Username: your email address
Password: the password you use to log into Webmail
POP Server: mail.yourdomainname
Port: 995
Check the option Leave a copy of retrieved messages on the server (recommended) and the option Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail.
Click on Add Account.
Tip: We recommend checking the option “Leave a copy of retrieved messages…” to always have access to your emails on Webmail.
You can now receive emails from your email account on Gmail.
Configure Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings
After completing the first step of adding the email account to Gmail, you now need to configure the outgoing server settings to send emails from your account.
To do this:
- Select the option Yes, I want to send emails as “…”
- Click on Next
Enter the name of your email box that you want recipients to see.
Click on Next Step.
Advice: If your Gmail address is your primary address and your other email address is reserved for receiving, you can check the box “Treat as an alias”.
Use the following settings for outgoing email:
SMTP Server: mail.yourdomainname
Username: your email address
Password: the password you use to log into Webmail
Port: 465
Secure Connection: SSL
Click on Add Account to Continue.
Gmail will then send you an email with a confirmation code.
7. Log in to Webmail.
8. Open the email Gmail Confirmation – Send Mail as “…”.
9. Copy the confirmation code from the email.
10. Paste the verification code into the field and click on Verify.
Your email account is now created and configured. You can send and receive emails on Gmail.
