Creating a custom error page on cPanel can be very beneficial for both you and your visitors.
In some cases, your website might go down, or certain pages might have issues during their loading process. When this happens, a generic error message is shown to visitors (e.g., a 404 error page not found when the page doesn’t exist on your site).
These error messages usually don’t provide enough information to your visitors, which may lead to disappointment and them leaving your site. To avoid this issue, it is recommended to create a custom error page where you can include all the information you’d like to share with your visitors. You can also include a link to redirect them to another page on your site, keeping them engaged and on your site longer.
How to Create a Custom Error Page on cPanel?
1. Log in to your cPanel interface.
2. Navigate to the Advanced section and click on Error Pages.
3. If you have multiple domain names, select the domain for which you want to add a custom error page.
4. Choose the type of error page you want to create. The most common error is 404: page not found.
5. On the next page, enter the code for the custom error page you want to add. Don’t forget to include a link that redirects visitors to another page on your site.
6. Click save.
Your page is now added, and a confirmation message will be displayed.
